Project Description
Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico, commonly named Lega Pro, is the organiser of the Serie C Championship, the third Italian football division.
Founded in Florence on 13 July 1959, at the behest of Artemio Franchi, since 6 November 2018 it has been led by President Francesco Ghirelli. The vice-presidents are Cristiana Capotondi and Jacopo Tognon.
Lega Pro, with its 60 associated clubs, counts 1,230 professional footballers, 12,770 players from the youth sectors, and 318 players in the fourth category tournament, athletes with cognitive impairment.
Lega Pro was the first European football league to create a thematic channel, Serie C TV, which started broadcasting Serie C matches during the 2014/15 football season. All the championship matches are live streamed in high definition. Calcio Servizi Lega Pro is a company controlled by Lega Pro, helping with the strategic development of institutional, commercial and management activities for the clubs and the Lega itself.
In the framework of the BiteFix project, Lega Pro and CalcioServiziLegaPro will help communicate all the activities.
