Steve Richardson | Sports Integrity and Investigations Consultant

Steve is a sports Integrity expert with extensive experience in protecting sport from corruption.

For seven years he was the principal investigator for corruption investigations in international cricket at the International Cricket Council based in Dubai. He was also responsible for maintaining an overview of cricket corruption investigations in domestic cricket boards worldwide and coordinating investigations which had a multi-jurisdictional aspect.

He has worked in sports integrity for the England and Wales Cricket Board and World Rugby at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.  Steve has substantial experience working in the Middle East and South Asia and with diverse communities protecting athletes from the risk of corruption.

He has investigated multiple media stings targeting sports professionals and has worked with the UNODC and Interpol on programmes to protect the integrity of sport.

Steve is a former Detective Superintendent with the Metropolitan Police specialising in serious and organised crime including murder investigation and led investigations into over 40 murders in London.  His work also involved major investigations into drug trafficking, money laundering and firearms offences.
